Insulated Glass Replacement

Replacement Insulated glass for windows (IGU)

Insulated glass units (IGUs) are double pane windows consisting of two panes of
glass separated by a spacer and filled with air. The sealed unit provides improved
insulation, noise reduction, and condensation resistance compared to single-pane
windows.

Sometimes these windows are fogged from a break in the seal or the glass on one of the panes is brokenand needs replaced. In most cases, you don’t need to replace the window, you can just replace the IGU. You can also upgrade the windows for a factory tinted window and/or a Low-e unit to cut down on the energy costs.

Replacement windows are available to match existing windows even if arched or have internal or external muntin. We can design and install custom glass insulated units (IGU) with integrated dog doors. These are more secure, more energy efficient and look better than any add-on dog doors you by from home stores.

Our additional specialities in glass are: window repair, foggy window repair, energy efficient glass, arched glass, obscure glass, custom glass for pet doors, custom insulated glass.

FAQ’s about Insulated Glass

How can insulated glass help save energy and increase your Orlando home value? Let’s count the ways:

🔥 1. Improved Energy Efficiency

How it works: IGUs consist of two or more glass panes separated by a spacer and filled with air or an inert gas like argon or krypton. Benefit: Reduces heat transfer, keeping your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer, which lowers HVAC usage.

Result: Lower energy bills—often up to 20–30% savings on heating and cooling costs.

🏠 2. Enhanced Comfort

Stable indoor temperatures: Less draft and cold spots near windows. Better humidity control: Reduced condensation on interior surfaces.

🔇 3. Noise Reduction

The multiple layers of glass and insulating gas act as a buffer, significantly reducing outside noise. Great for homes near busy streets, airports, or noisy neighborhoods.

💸 4. Increased Home Value

Upgraded windows (especially energy-efficient ones) are a high-ROI home improvement. Attractive to buyers looking for energy-efficient or green homes.

☀️ 5. UV Protection

Many IGUs have low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings that block up to 99% of UV rays. Helps protect furniture, flooring, and artwork from fading or sun damage.

🔒 6. Increased Security

IGUs are typically thicker and harder to break than single-pane glass. Can be combined with laminated or tempered glass for even more security.

🛠️ 7. Low Maintenance

Many IGUs come with special coatings that reduce dirt buildup and make cleaning easier. Condensation between panes (a sign of seal failure) is rare in high-quality units and usually covered by warranty.

If you’re considering replacing old single-pane windows or doing a renovation, insulated glass is almost always worth the investment.
